1 Peter 2:4–8

[4] As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious

Who is the ‘living stone’ that the apostle Peter is referring to?

Peter explains in [Act 4:11 NIV]

Jesus is " 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.'

What is God’s secure promise ‘As you come to him’ ?

V.6 “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.

Because Jesus, the Living Stone is ‘chosen’ and a ‘precious cornerstone’ in the sight of God.

The ‘cornerstone’ is the most important stone in a building, the foundation upon which all the other ‘stones’ in the building are built and measured to ensure that it will not fall apart.

God has appointed and chosen Christ as a sure foundation for those who would believe in him.

Jesus said “Upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it’. (Matthew 16:18)
